Viral Amin
Viral Amin is Chief Risk Officer and Head of Portfolio Management of HASI. He is responsible for the company’s on-balance-sheet portfolio management and risk management functions and supports the firm’s underwriting process.
Prior to joining HASI in 2023, Mr. Amin served as Vice President of Business Development, Strategy, and Mergers and Acquisitions for DTE Vantage, its unregulated portfolio company. While at DTE, he held multiple commercial and strategic roles in both utility and non-utility businesses, ultimately becoming responsible for the unregulated company’s investment activities. He oversaw its growth through the sourcing, diligence, and execution of new projects in renewable and industrial energy. Before joining DTE, he worked as an engineer for several years at Ford Motor Company and Visteon Corporation.
Mr. Amin received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
